Over the course of a nights sleep, joints and muscles are inactive, therefore leading to morning stiffness. During the day walking, and moving will help our bodies loosen up, and allow stiffness to decrease. If you are finding you have excessive low back stiffness in the mornings, the following stretches can help you loosen up.
Stiffness of the low back is most often associated with the muscles of the legs attaching onto the pelvis. If you sleep in the fetal position, your hip flexors will be in need of stretching by the morning. The sequence in this video will allow you to start to loosen up, before you’re feet hit the floor.
